Description:
Given insights from the user experience, we suggest that shared decision making may be a better way to help inform difficult discussions about partial foot or transtibial amputation. Evidence in other areas of healthcare show that when people are better informed about the procedures, they can accurately perceive the benefits and risks, and have less regret with their treatment decision when a shared decision making approach was used.
